The earth's atmosphere is nearly depleted or damaged. This problem is due to severe air pollution or too much concentration of the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide are one of those greenhouse gases that affect the atmosphere. Most of the carbon monoxide, Seventy-six percent to be exact, that is present in the air came from our cars and for every gallon of the conventional gasoline that is being used up or burned in your car engines gives off eleven kilograms of carbon dioxide in the air that we breathe. Another toxic chemical which our cars emit is the chlorofluorocarbons which are used in our car air conditioners.

Due to those environmental impacts of the cars that are ran by conventional gasoline, the experts created an alternative fuel which is relatively safe than the conventional fuels used. Some of those alternatives are liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), ethanol-based fuels (E85, which is 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline), and others. These alternatives which are called clean fuels, emits colorless and odorless gases which are relatively harmless than the hydrocarbon fuels. The problem is, those conventional car engines are not compatible with these kinds of fuels. Because the major contributor of the toxic chemicals that is killing or destroying the atmosphere is the cars that we are using in our daily lives, we have to modify them to prevent the continuous depletion of the earth's atmosphere. This is the reason why, car engine manufacturers created new engines that will be compatible with those clean fuels.

The car industry or manufacturers did their part. As consumers, we have to use those cars that are less harmful to the environment. As we could see, green-fueled cars are now available in the market and it is also possible to rent clean-fueled cars if you are going to a place and you don't have your own. If you want to travel, make it sure that you're not causing more trouble to the whole world using the conventional cars running on petroleum-based fuels. Clean-fuels are more efficient than the conventional ones. They could be easily combusted emitting lower amount of toxic chemicals that could also damage the engines. It is not only the engines and the atmosphere that should be protected from those harmful chemicals. Nitrogen oxides, lead, carbon oxides and sulfur that are present in those conventional fuels could largely affect the air that we breathe causing more harm to the people. This is the main problem that the clean-fueled cars gave solution to. Using those clean-fueled cars, the environment as well as the people could be preserved.

The saying "prevention is better than cure" is also applicable in the environment. Why wait for the environment to be more destroyed if you can do something now before it's too late? Clean-fueled cars are part of the preventive mechanisms that could help in the reduction of pollutants in the air, so why not use it?
